FERNHURST Society’s first event of 2017 is an illustrated talk on ‘Secrets of the High Woods’.
Mark Seaman, a community archaeologist, will show how the wooded land between Petersfield and Arundel revealed its secrets in a Heritage Lottery funded project organised by the South Downs National Park Authority.
Discoveries included a long-lost Roman Road, medieval deer parks, deserted medieval villages and a tapestry of ancient farm fields dating back 2,000 years.
The talk, on Thursday, February 23, is at Fernhurst Village Hall, (7.30 for 8pm),
Everyone is welcome – entry for non-members is £1. For further details email: enquiries@fernhurstsociety .org.uk.
