CAMPAIGNERS have accused East Hampshire District Council of relaxing conditions imposed on a solar farm on the outskirts of Farnham to meet a deadline for Government renewable energy subsidies.
The 25-acre solar farm on a south-facing hillside between Bentley and Dippenhall was given the go-ahead last December after a government inspector overturned East Hampshire District Council's (EHDC) refusal of planning permission.
But neighbouring residents have continued to fight the proposal and have raised concerns that the council has "waived through incomplete and approximate plans" to meet the conditions imposed by the inspector.
These include a transport management scheme to direct construction traffic away from the A31 and country lanes, a water run-off scheme to prevent flooding on the A31, and screening along the historic St Swithun's Way footpath.
