EAT your heart out Weyfest – the real action on Sunday was at the Hammer-Time music festival.

Established and up and coming musical talents from Haslemere and the surrounding area entertained the crowd from 1-8pm at the fundraiser, which raised more than £3,000 for Hammer Hill recreation ground, including a donation to Haslemere Hospital League of Friends.

Hammer Hill Recreation Association purchased the site for the community in 1999.

Committee member Steve Matthews, who helped organise the event with his wife Yvonne, said: “All of us at Hammer-Time are truly amazed at the response and support from the local community.

“The age range was from babies to 85 year olds and there was such a good atmosphere.

“This event was pulled together by a select few companies to make it happen.

“Thanks to Moodies for donating all the marquees and catering equipment, and Site Event kindly donated the toilets.

“Conan Elliott, from Waverley Wood Stoves, and also the bassist from the headlining band Levi, brought together the 15 amazing performers and bands.

Mr Phil Holbird, local singer songwriter, did an amazing job by smoothly running the busker session and 3 Counties Church donated 200 burgers.”
