HAPPY memories of a 2015 Christmas concert by students of Stepping Stones School, will live on through the CD they recorded.

Pupils at the Hindhead special needs school now have a permanent reminder of the three successful performances they gave of their Christmas concert at nearby care homes Huntington House and Moorlands Lodge, and before an invited public at a concert hosted by school co-founder Larry Sullivan at Sundial House.

Each class sang at the concert and there were solo performances from Lucy, Izzy, Rachael, Jade and ex-pupil, Amy.

Most of the students receive some form of speech therapy and support for anxiety and all three audiences were impressed by the high musical standard and level of confidence.

Mr Sullivan said “Before coming to Stepping Stones, several of these children struggled just to attend school because of anxiety, now they are happily singing solos.

“What an achievement.”

Headteacher Melissa Farnham said: “I have come to the end of my first year at Stepping Stones and have been amazed by the young people who flourish and grow under the watch of strong and focused staff team.

“The Christmas celebration really reflected the determination and passion the young people have to succeed.”
