SPECSAVERS Farnham store director Lateef Iqbal gave himself a pat on the back after completing the Surrey Half Marathon in aid of the Lisa May Foundation.
The foundation, which Specsavers Farnham has supported for a number of years, supports numerous charities in Surrey, Hampshire and Berkshire, as well as raising funds for victims of natural disaster across the world.
The charity was founded after Surrey Heath councillor John May lost his daughter Lisa to the tsunami that devastated Thailand on Boxing Day 2004.
Lateef was delighted to don his trainers and walk the Surrey Half Marathon to raise money for the worthy foundation. Normally a keen sportsman, powering around the track with a good sprint, he admits his training had fallen a bit short this year.
But undeterred, he decided to walk the Surrey Half Marathon because he wanted to play his small part in raising the much-needed funds for the foundation.
