CRICKET - Elstead and Frensham both won their National Village Cup matches to set up a fourth-round local derby at Frensham this Sunday. Rowledge beat Kidmore End by 6 runs in a thrilling match and are home to Farley Hill on Sunday.

Farnham's run in the high-grade Evening Standard Cup came to an end when they lost to Esher. But, on Sunday morning, Farnham won their 'bowl out' against Finchampstead to reach the fifth round of the National Club Knockout. On Saturday, Farnham lost to Ashford in the Surrey Championship by 18 runs, after a defiant last-wicket stand of 49 between father and son, Chic and Andy Stedman.

Liphook & Ripsley gave a superb team performance to beat Winchester KS by 16 runs in the Southern Premier League Division II. Alton lost heavily to United Services, while Rowledge defeated Easton & Martyr Worthy by 73 runs in Division III. Stuart Woodhouse, playing his first game of the season, hit a fast 50 for Rowledge who amassed 251-8.

Churt and Haslemere both recorded much-needed wins in the Fullers Surrey League Division I.

Lindford retain their lead at the top of the I'Anson Division I, but the outstanding performance of the day came from Frensham who recovered from being 25-6 to beat old rivals Tilford.

FOOTBALL – Farnham Town have appointed Andy Nunn, the former Wokingham and Aldershot Town player, as their new manager.

Aldershot have completed the signing of highly rated full-back Lee Protheroe, but have released midfielders Jimmy Sugrue and Simon Bassey.

ATHLETICS – Aldershot, Farnham & District AC easily won their Southern League second division fixture at Guildford. Haslemere Border AC were also winners in their division six match.

SWIMMING – A fine series of swims from Haslemere's juniors has ensured first division status in the Premier League.
