CHILDREN from Liphook Junior School and their infant school counterparts enthusiastically took part in their annual sports day activities, which included sporting carousel events, sprint and relay races for their school teams, Ruby, Amber or Emerald.

In addition to the fun, they enjoyed long distance races around the school field, while parents and teachers participated in three-legged races.

Children joined family and friends for a picnic lunch in the sunshine and continued with a carousel of activities during the afternoon ranging from a space hopper race to quoits in a bucket, slalom as well as an egg and spoon race. The overall event was won by the Emerald team, closely followed by Ruby and Amber.

Students from Bordon’s Mill Chase Academy gave up their day to help with the smooth running and scoring of the event.

Executive headteacher Michele Frost said: “What a fantastic day – all the children showed great sportsmanship and the whole event has been an amazing display of both personal and team effort.

“Well done to all the children, and congratulations to the winning team Emerald.”
