TALENTED pupils from Eggar’s School have been rewarded for their sporting prowess.

Year 10 pupil Peter Morris picked up a silver medal for England in the team pattern event in the European Tae Kwon Do Championships in Finland.

And his success was mirrored by a quartet of Eggar’s athletes who performed well in the British Schools Gymnastics finals in Stoke-upon-Trent.

The boys pairing of Dylan Milner and Finn Lewis starred by winning a bronze medal – an incredible achievement as neither student had done gymnastics before atending Eggar’s.

And mixed pair Amy Klaire and Benji Dowds finished a close up fifth, only an agonising 0.15 marks short of a medal.

An Eggar’s spokesman said: “Having two top five finishes in a national competition is amazing, especially as the standard across the board was incredibly high.

“The current gymnastics squad at Eggar’s is very young with a huge amount of potential for the future.”
