AN in-depth study into sports facilities in the Bordon area is almost complete and ready to be presented to local authorities.
The results of the study, being compiled by the Bordon, Whitehill and District Sports Council, have now been collected and are being put together so that its findings can be used to back calls for the provision of additional sports in Bordon, Headley, Blackmoor, Oakhanger, Lindford, Grayshott and Liphook.
Council secretary Keith Goodyear said: ÒWe hope to be able to present it to the area community committee in June or July.Ó
Another possible way of presenting the reportÕs finding to the local community is through a special presentation to which local groups and councils are invited.
This idea is still being explored.
Mr Goodyear said that the results collected for the report show that there is a great enthusiasm for sport among young people, but not necessarily the resources to back that up.
ÒWhat was quite nice was the fact that most people appear to believe that they should be participating in sport,Ó he said.
ÒBut the population in this area are let down by its facilities by a very large margin.Ó
