CHILDREN at St Mary’s Infant School in Frensham are already benefiting from a new Library Garden, which was officially unveiled on September 27.
The garden will be used for reading outside, looking for mini-beasts, growing vegetables, enjoying the sensory features and much more. Support from the village shop, Frensham Fayre committee, Tesco’s Bags of Help scheme and fundraising events, such as parents taking on the Grim Challenge, helped fund the project.
The garden was designed by Ruth Murphy of Blue Daisy Blue and landscaped by ME (Marshall and Eaton) Developments. The team worked to bring the plans to life during the summer holidays, with bulbs, a hedge and more equipment still to be added.
Both Simon Marshall’s and Nicholas Eaton’s children attend the school.
Simon’s wife, Lucy Marshall, said at the launch: “We were more than happy to help out the local school and community. It’s a lovely space and it would have been a shame not to do it while our kids are at the school.
“It’s a lovely, friendly school and we wanted to give something back.”
Headteacher Jennifer Downing said: “Thank you so much because without them we wouldn’t have this now and the children wouldn’t benefit from it, so thank you very much.”
