A “STUNNING” production of The Tempest was staged by Year 6 pupils of St Peter’s Primary School in Farnham.
A musical version of Shaespeare’s play, performed ‘in the round’ on a central stage, it was directed by teacher Robin Norster-Files who, in the words of one parent, “really challenged the children to reach new heights - this was something very special”.
The way in which the production was mounted, meant that all the children were on stage for the duration of the play, ensuring full participation from everyone involved.
Year six teacher Vanda Bolton said: “The audiences were spellbound. The children rose to the challenge of learning their lines in a style of language new to them, those with solo singing roles were pitch perfect and the costumes, which the children made themselves, were stunning.”
Headteacher Sarah Dunning added: “We are privileged to have such dedicated staff and parents who put so many hours into making this such a memorable experience. It was a wonderful climax to the children’s seven years at St Peter’s.”
