A popular pub at Priors Dean was given a starring role in a forthcoming ITV drama this week.
The White Horse, affectionately known as the Pub with No Name because of its missing sign, was one of the locations used by Zenith Productions in a new drama, The Roman Road.
A number of scenes for the show, which stars Alan Davies (Jonathan Creek) and John Gordon-Sinclair (Gregory's Girl), were shot at the pub on Monday and Tuesday - including a car crash.
Landlord Paul Stewart said the whole thing had come about at the last minute.
"One of the crew was having lunch up here and thought it would fit the bill," said Mr Stewart.
"They contacted us only a few weeks ago, so it has been pretty quick. We're hoping now that one film company has used it more might follow."
The pub was closed for two days for filming to take place, but Mr Stewart said regulars had been very understanding.
"The locals have been brilliant. I thought I was going to get no end of grief, but they think it is brilliant. But I did promise them a few beers once it was finished," he told The Herald.
He added: "It was a long day, they were filming from 10am until 2am the following morning".
Mr Stewart, who also runs The Good Intent in Petersfield, said it was not the first TV appearance for the pub.
"I believe it was used before in Not the Nine O'clock News, Mel Smith and Griff Rhys Jones did a sketch up there," he said.
