THE main Farnham station car park will close for up to four months from Monday, April 18, for major improvement works.

Once completed, a new single-storey deck on the car park in Station Approach will deliver an additional 170 parking spaces on top of the 355 already provided at the station.

Works are expected to take until August to complete.

South West Trains (SWT) has advised alternative car parking is available within 10 minutes walking distance of Farnham station:

• Riverside 2 and 3 car parks - £4 per day.

• St James car park - £4.00 per day.

• Wagon Yard car park - £6.90 per day.

Charges apply Monday to Saturday from 8am to 7pm at each of the car parks listed above.

Car park season ticket holders will also be able to use Aldershot station car park if spaces are available.

A SWT spokesman said: “We are sorry for any inconvenience caused during the construction process and thank you for your patience during this time.”
