STEVE Davis certainly gave the crowd their money's worth at the Farnham & District Billards & Snooker League's annual awards night at Lindford WMC last Friday.
The former six-times World Snooker Champion spent over four hours at the club, delighting the 200-plus spectators with his exhibition snooker, laced with his renowned witty commentary.
"He was a true professional and a wonderful ambassador for the sport," said Steve Thomas who with fellow committee members Ken Scott, Peter Semple and Paul Lee, had organised another successful finale to the league season.
Steve played the highest break-makers from the league and pitched his game to just the right standard.
He won four of the five frames, but Shottermill WMC player Jon Larbey scored a memorable win against the ace professional who was anything but 'Boring' on the night.
Davis beat Juro Kolar (Passfield WMC) 52-43, beat Nick Wiles (Bourne RBL) 76-22, lost to Jon Larbey (ShottermillWMC) 34-76, beat Marcus Burton (Liss RBL) 70-27 and beat Anish Bhayro (Breaks) 83-70.
The best match, against Anish Bhayro, went to the black and Davis made his highest break of the night, 56.
During the interval, Steve Davis remained at the table and signed photographs which he had brought himself.
