THE Farnham Primary Schools Floorball Cup has seen its biggest turn out yet.
Eleven teams from seven schools took part in the competition, which took place on February 2 at Farnham Leisure Centre.
There were so many teams that 27 matches were needed to create a fair competition, meaning the leisure centre had to be divided in half to fit in all of the matches.
Premier Sport, who now run floorball clubs and PE lessons in several local schools, provided two members of staff but a Fireballs player and a Farnham Unihockey & Floorball Club (FUFC) coach were also needed for the event.
Rowledge C of E Primary School’s first team finally triumphed but it was a close finish for the top four teams, with St Polycarp’s Catholic Primary School second, Walsh C of E Junior School third and Highfield South Farnham School fourth. The next cup is on Friday, June 8.
Rowledge School have also confirmed that they are going to be the first ever Farnham primary school to enter the National Youth Floorball Cup in Cheltenham on Sunday, June 17.
The closing date for entries is not until May with several teams from Scotland already booked to take part.
