PROPOSALS to introduce on-street parking meters in Waverley's town centres remain on hold after a Surrey County Council committee deferred decision on whether to allow a statutory consultation to go ahead.

The Waverley Local Committee was due to open discussions on the recommendations last Friday, but decided to defer to allow Waverley councillors the chance to discuss the details.
