THE westbound carriageway of the A31 was closed for just over an hour on November 16 when an articulated lorry managed got stuck trying to manoeuvre close to the Holybourne roundabout.

According to the police, the vehicle became so firmly wedged that it was blocking both carriageways, causing other road users to try to get round it by mounting the grass verge.

The road was closed around 6.25pm and re-opened at around 7.40pm, causing chaos and congestion during the evening rush hour.
