SHOWSHACK Dance and Theatre School students have been celebrating outstanding results in recent ballet and LAMDA drama exams with a record number of distinctions.

From grade one through to intermediate, all ballet students achieved merit or above while more than half of the students were awarded distinctions ranging from entry level to gold in solos, duos, musical theatre, acting, devised drama and public speaking.

Wendy McElroy, head of ballet at Showshack and renowned RAD examiner, said she is “thrilled” with the results and added the awards improve communication skills, increase self confidence and help to develop strong social skills.

All higher level LAMDA and RAD ballet exams are accredited and give equivalent points towards GCSE, A-level and UCAS.
