STUDENTS from six schools, and three pre-schools and nurseries, entertained their families and dignitaries with a festive concert at the former Havannah Officers’ Mess, in Station Road, Bordon.

Christmas trees were decorated with ornaments, made by younger children who had arrived earlier in the day for a Santa hunt and singing. The concert saw pupils, aged three to 15, perform well-known festive songs.

The event was held in conjunction with Mill Chase Academy and the Whitehill and Bordon Regeneration Company, supported by the Upton Specialised Tree Service, Gosport Ice Show and Ice Skating Club, Janet Heys from St Mark’s Church, Disco Darren, Lisa Hutchinson from East Hampshire District Council, the Whitehill and Bordon Town Partnership and Archon Security.

Naomi Metcalfe, community development officer at the Regeneration Company, said: “It was great to see so many local schools, pre-schools and nurseries involved in the concert and the children performed brilliantly.

“We would like to thank Amanda Jones, head of performing arts at Mill Chase school, and her colleague for organising the concert, as well Corinne Tutton for organising the refreshments.”
