AUDREY Hepburn’s Hollywood classic Breakfast at Tiffany’s provided the theme for the first ’Food and Film’ event at Liphook’s Millennium Centre.

Round tables dressed in black and white, candle light, diamonds and glass pearls provided a stylish ambiance while guests were sipping Long Island Tea, Cosmopolitan or Manhattan cocktails as well as enjoying canapés during the interval.

The journey back to New York in the early 1960s proved to be a resounding success and Millennium Centre manager Karen Feeney said: “We were absolutely delighted with the success of the first Film and Food event, which was completely sold out.

“The main hall looked magical, lit by candles, the food was delicious and we are very grateful for local catering company Keeley’s Kitchen for the wonderful canapés they served during the interval and the cocktails they provided.

“The event, which was organised by parish councillor Jane Ives, myself and new part-time centre member Caroline Lennox, was well received by everyone and we would like to say a big thank you to all those involved.

“We will definitely be holding more themed Food and Film events throughout the new year and are planning the next event for February, around Valentine’s Day.”
