ATHLETIC children from South Farnham School met up with an Olympic legend to celebrate their success at this year's District Sports Championships.

The group, who formed part of a winning squad of 52, was invited along to meet Team GB coach Linford Christie and a selection of his athletes at a training session at Brunel University.

After fending off some fierce competition from 11 other competing schools at Aldershot Military Stadium on July 11, the children were keen to show off their track and field prowess in front of a team of professionals.

The children were given a tour of the university's sports facilities, both indoor and outdoor, before watching Team GB in action.
