AS temperatures soared this week picnic lovers and swimmers headed for the town's sun spots in their droves.

Petersfield open-air swimming pool had its best days of the year so far when hundreds flocked to Heath Road to cool off at the weekend as the mercury hit a whopping 30C – or 86F.
