WHAT a difference a few months can make.

The Petersfield Festivals team haven't had the best of luck in 2014. The last day of their Summer Festival was a washout, and poor weather also marred their inaugural Lavant Street market in March.

So Steve Jacob and Ben Errey were thrilled that the sun shone for their second attempt on the shopping thoroughfare dubbed the "gateway to the South Downs National Park".

"It was a beautiful day and it looked like Petersfield came out en masse," said Mr Errey.

"All of the centre of town was very busy, busier than a Saturday, and both our market and good friends at the Hampshire Farmers' Market in The Square were kept busy."

If the first Lavant Street market was a bit grey, then the second was a riot of colour and activity with more than 40 stalls lining the road from Charles Street to Chapel Street.
