THE existing Liphook-Bordon rail link is to be extended offering passengers later services and a service on a Sunday for the first time.

These new improvements, to be introduced in the new winter timetable on September 29, will include four additional late evening services from Monday to Saturday and an hourly Sunday service.

The last bus from Liphook on Monday to Saturday will be at 00.54 connecting with the train which leaves Waterloo at 23.45.

This should allow people to stay out later in London for a night out with friends or make a family day-trip without having to worry about the journey home.

Rufus Boyd, South West TrainsÕ Commercial Director, said: ÒI am delighted that we have extended our Rail-Link service. This has proved to be our most popular route and we hope the patronage will continue to grow.

With a later service during the week and an hourly Sunday service this will allow more flexibility when people are making travel arrangements.Ó

The additional late evening services from Monday to Saturday will leave at 22.23, 23.26, 23.58 and 00.54. The last train to leave Portsmouth is the 23.33 and arrives in time to catch the last bus from Liphook.

All-inclusive Liphook-Bordon rail-link tickets are available from any staffed South West TrainsÕ station or alternatively you can purchase a ticket on the bus. Tickets may also be purchased from on-train staff when the ticket office is closed.
