A SUPERHEROES event for Friday's BBC Children In Need appeal inspired some eye-catching costumes at St Mary's Primary School in Chiddingfold.

Power dressing pupils swopped their school uniforms for Superman and Spiderman outfits or rolled up as James Bond and staff joined in the fun by dressing up as Super Teachers.

Pupils also invented their own superhero personas with costumes to match and wrote stories about the characters they had created and their heroic exploits.

Headteacher Joanna Jones told The Herald: "It was a day to dress up as superheroes and we also had a story writing competition for the best super hero.

"We always support Children In Need and we raised more than £200."
