HASLEMERE residents back affordable homes at Red Court, claims developer Redwood (South West).

A consultation of householders close to the site by the developers received support from residents for the plans at Scotland Park.

One resident, Mrs Kelly, said: “I’ve grown up in Haslemere and am desperate to stay now I have a young family of my own.

“Unfortunately, with limited numbers of homes being built that is increasingly difficult.

“Any plans that include affordable homes is a brilliant idea and much needed.”

Fellow resident Alex Swallow added: “Getting on the property ladder is almost impossible.

“I’ve been renting a one-bedroom flat for seven years. Something needs to change to help people get started.”
