WHEN families from Hale Sure Start Children’s Centre visited Alice Holt Forest on July 18, they got involved in a variety of activities.

As well as playing on the giant wooden owl and enjoying picnics in a wooden shelter, families created magic potions, sticky pictures and gathered treasure.

After the event, parents said the day was “very well organised and lots of fun”, and that “the team are always so welcoming and friendly”.

One parent added: “We had an awesome time at Alice Holt! Having activities like this put on by the Sure Start centre is invaluable.

“I wouldn’t think to do an activity like this on my own, but we had such a great time I will definitely do this again with my daughter.”

The children’s centre is open throughout the summer, offering a variety of activities and support to local families.

One of the upcoming summer events is a free mosaic workshop with Denise Jaques, an award winning artist specialising in mosaics.

Workshops will be held on August 28, 29 and 30, with attendees helping create a large mosaic which will be displayed outside the centre. It is available to families with children of all ages, living within the Hale area.
