A SENIOR surgeon has come out in favour of reinstating Alton's Lord Mayor Treloar Hospital in line with Tony Blair's proposal to use specialist hospitals to hit surgery waiting lists.

Boosted by this double-edged show of support, local campaigners are urging the government to consider using Treloars as a pilot scheme for a new style of elective orthopaedic provision.
