Team Psyclo, which is once again receiving support from Tindle Newspapers, have put together an outfit with which to compete in the "superbike" class of the 2002 KRC National Endurance series.

The team personnel are a mix of old and new. Once again Frimley Park surgeon Andrew McCombe, from Farnham, is riding, along with James "Billy" Bowden, a chartered surveyor from Bucks Horn Oak.

This season's newcomer is Sam Mizen, a sales director for a large medical company, from Thursley.

There is the usual mix of helpers with the core support provided by Jim Grant, from Farnham, and Gary Harris, from Oxford.

A pair of Suzuki TL1000Ss were bought and prepared over the winter months. Most of the preparation has been done by local firms with the tuning work undertaken by Dynotec Performance of Basingstoke.

For their first test, both bikes were taken to a demanding little circuit in Lille in France. The bikes performed really well and attracted a lot of attention from the knowledgeable locals!

AIthough not racing, this early outing seemed to indicate a lot of useful potential from the bikes, which have been prepared identically; putting to shame a few very exotic-looking race machines on the Sunday session.

The following weekend, Sam and Andrew took the bikes to Mallory Park for their first race outing in the New Era Race Club's "Battle of the Twins".

The weather was certainly less than ideal but both bikes performed well in both the wet and the dry to record comfortable mid-field finishes.

The team idid further preparation in Valencia at the end of March.

All things are now in place for what it is hoped will be a perfect start to the season at Snetterton on April 21.
