THE Patient Participation Group for the Badgerswood and Forest surgeries in Headley and Bordon was presented with the Corkill Award runner-up prize for Patient Participation Group of the Year 2015 at a ceremony at Lindford Village Hall.

Founded in 2010, the surgeries’ Patient Participation Group aims to provide oversight and support to the surgeries, with generosity from patients, to improve patient facilities and care. David Lee, chairman of the Patient Participation Group accepted the award, on September 29, from Dr Patricia Wilkie, president of the National Association of Patient Participation Groups, with by Julia Barton, chief quality officer for the South Eastern Hampshire Commissioning Group.

Peter Dunt, chairman of the board of governors of the Royal Surrey County Hospital, Guildford, gave a presentation on the plans for the future of the hospital and its merger with Ashford and St Peter’s in Chertsey.
