Animals received a furry-warm welcome from Waverley Grange Bupa Care Home residents in Farnham.

Browells Wood Pet Therapy brought a dog, guinea pigs, rabbits, a cat, a chicken and even a little lamb, and staff and residents had enormous fun stroking and interacting with the animals from the comfort of their armchairs.

Resident Sybil Wenham said: “I really enjoyed the afternoon, especially meeting the lamb. The animals were all so lovely.

“It was wonderful – a nice treat.”

Browells is a local business which provides pets with the best standard of care and deliver animal-assisted pet therapy to communities.

Waverley Grange senior activities coordinator Ivanka Valcheva said: “It was a lovely experience, and our residents haven’t stopped talking about it.”

Pet therapy offers significant benefits, as stroking the animals triggers the release of endorphins that provide a calming effect.
