SURREY County Council has addressed false rumours that Cobgates care home in Farnham has been sold to a property developer.
Concerns were raised after London-based company Camelot began advertising rooms to rent at the recently-closed care home in Falkner Road for as little as £438 a month.
However, a county council spokesman confirmed Camelot is in fact a security company employed by the council to prevent the risk of squatters occupying the building.
The spokesman added: “We are currently reviewing our options for the long-term potential of this site to secure the best outcome for the Surrey taxpayer.”
