A Surrey Police officer appeared at Aldershot Magistrates' Court on Monday, charged with the attempted rape of a female under the age of 16. Alan Skoglund, 47, from Tongham, was charged with the attempted rape of a female under the age of 16. Detective Constable Skoglund was also charged with three other charges pertaining to sexual activity with the girl. Dc Skoglund has been suspended from his job, which, according to a Surrey Police spokeswoman was "an office- based role in a central unit". "The charges do not relate to any incidents when on police duty" said another Surrey Police spokeswoman. Dc Skoglund was remanded in custody and will appear at Winchester Crown Court on June 1.
