TWO men have received suspended prison sentences this week for attacking a 21-year-old Alton man outside the town's library.

Rhys Brudenell, 19, from Frensham Lane, Lindford, received a 12-month prison sentence suspended for two years, at Winchester Crown Court on Tuesday for causing grievous bodily harm.

Another man, Joshua Bryant, 20, of Holly Lane, Blackmoor, was handed a nine-month prison sentence, suspended for two years, for the same charge of GBH.

Both men were found guilty on January 21 at Winchester Crown Court.

The incident took place outside Alton library on July 3, 2010, when the victim is said to have received 'life changing injuries' and underwent major surgery as a result of the attack.
