COUNTRY Watch officers have been alerted to the “suspicious” behaviour of the driver of a Land Rover in Upper Froyle, near Alton.

The blue vehicle, which police say contained four men and a dog, was spotted loitering suspiciously close to Mill Court Barns around 10am on Tuesday when the alarm was raised.

A police spokesman said that one it was clear that the Land Rover had been spotted, it was driven off quickly. The registration number of the vehicle was T740 APH.

Meanwhile, the police are appealing for witnesses after plant machinery and a trailer were stolen from a farm at Holt Pound Lane, near Binsted.

The theft occurred around 9.15pm on March 13 when intruders entered the farm premises and steered a grey Takeuchi TB016 digger onto a low loader trailer with a vehicle registration number of W779 LCL.
