HOME-START WeyWater said a huge thank you to Pam Jones, the former town mayor of Alton, who chose them as her charity during her mayoral year.

Pam is a long-time supporter of Home-Start and she worked hard with events and raising the charity’s profile. Some £2,566 was raised from a mixture of events including the mayor’s reception, classic car show, mayor’s quiz, bridge club, and the masons.

The cheque was presented to Andrea Poston, who was representing the charity, at the annual town council meeting in May and will go toward supporting families that are in need of some extra help with wide-ranging issues such as social isolation, multiple birth, disability, and post-natal depression.

Alton’s new mayor, Matthew Bayliss, has also chosen Home-Start WeyWater as his mayoral charity.
