PEOPLE of all ages are invited to take part in the Greensand Scramble beginning on Thursday, April 27, in aid of Farnham-based charity The Simon Trust.
Participants can walk, run or cycle all or just part of 57 miles of beautiful Kent and Surrey countryside, taking in pretty villages, orchards, hop gardens, Chartwell and Leith Hill before ending up at the Devils Punchbowl in Hindhead this Sunday for a ‘survivor’s party’.
Entry costs £10 (plus a booking fee) and all proceeds will go to The Simon Trust, founded in 2014 by Farnham couple Peter and Sally Lawrence to raise the £500,000 needed for a much-needed home for 10 young adults with severe autism.
Peter said: “We will be covering 57 miles of the beautiful Greensand Way over the course of four days (April 27 to 30), and we would love local walking enthusiasts to join as much or as little of the route as they like - even just a few hours would be great.
“Sunday, April 30, will be the busiest day with just 11 miles to walk or run to a survivor’s party at the Punchbowl that afternoon. Transport back to your parked cars is possible and this will be organised when you enter.”
