JUNIOR readers enjoyed some out-of-this-world holiday fun at Haslemere Library’s first hands-on science workshop.

Library liaison assistant Laura Bridger said: “To tie in with the Space Chase Summer Reading Challenge being held in all Surrey libraries until September 14, children learnt about the planets and made their own model solar system. They made a moving model to show how the planets orbit the sun. ”

The library is also holding drop-in space-themed craft events tomorrow and August 30 from 10am to midday. Other activities are a Design an Alien competition and a character hunt.
