A WAR of words has broken out after an exchange of letters over East Hampshire District Council's (EHDC) budget, which has seen a freeze on council tax bills for the second year running.
In a letter to The Herald last week, Ferris Cowper, the leader of the Conservative-led council, claimed that a projected £483,000 funding gap highlighted in a report made to EHDC had been plugged, leading the cabinet to instead vote in a balanced budget, after agreeing with the recommendations of its business director.
