COUNCILLOR Adam Taylor-Smith's headline appearance at the East Street inquiry drew large crowds on Tuesday, as objectors seized their opportunity to quiz the man responsible for delivering the redevelopment of Farnham town centre.
As Waverley Borough Council's executive member for the East Street redevelopment, Mr Taylor-Smith has become something of a pantomime villain among objectors to the scheme - largely for his assertion that those criticising the scheme belong only to a "vocal minority" of residents.
However, with Tuesday offering the first chance for many to look Mr Taylor-Smith in the eye, much of the audience left disappointed after government inspector Colin Ball restricted the cross examination of the councillor to a mere hour - a decision described as "wrong" by objector Jerry Hyman and vociferously opposed by much of the scheme's objectors.
