A TEA party was held at St George’s Church hall in Badshot Lea on Saturday, August 4, to raise money for Diabetes UK in memory of long-time Farnham resident Stella Barter.

Stella, who sadly passed away last October, lived in Farnham and had diabetes for over 50 years. In her memory, her family organised the ‘BIG Tea Party’ and on a warm afternoon more than 100 people came and donated generously.

The hall was decorated in the blue and orange Diabetes UK colours. The centre piece was a colourful cake adorned with blue and orange flowers.

On the day funds reached in excess of £1,000, and with the online fundraising sum still rising, the value with Gift Aid is expected to reach more than £2,000 in total.

Donations can still be made in Stella’s memory online at www.justgiving.com/findraising/inmemoryofstella . All proceeds will be donated to Diabetes UK to help others, young and old live a full life and support them through the challenges that may lie ahead.
