ELSIE Templeman, former head of The Ridgeway School in Farnham, for 20 years before retirement was thrilled to enjoy a memorable lunch with past staff members in Wrecclesham.

She was supported by six qualified teachers, four assistant staff and regular specialists such as physiotherapists. There was also a school class at two nursing homes, one at Melbreck in Farnham and the other at The Grange in Hindhead.

After retirement the teachers and other staff have met annually to enjoy a reunion lunch together in the Farnham area.

Thirty years later they held their lunch at The Royal Oak at Wrecclesham last month. Eight members attended, one from the Isle of Wight and three sent apologies for absence.

Tom Templeman, husband to Elsie, said: “I think this is a remarkable get-together of dedicated staff who regarded their job as a vocation.”
