THE Simon Trust, which supports young adults with severe autism in Surrey, had a dedicated team of five runners in the Farnham Pilgrim Marathon and Half Marathon, who between them, raised more than £1,500 for the Trust.

Sarah Bradbury and Richard Sheppard ran the full marathon and Emilie Amos, Jacquie Ashley-Collins, and Ali Hardaway ran the half.

Emilie deserves a special mention as it was her first half marathon and motivated by the fact that she herself has an autistic son, she alone raised £915.

“An exhilarating and successful day all round, on a course which is challenging for its hills and unbeatable for its beautiful countryside”, said Sally Lawrence, chairman of The Simon Trust.
