SURREY Police have confirmed there was not a stabbing at a “massive” house party in Haslemere on the night of January 3.

Police were called to reports of a public order incident just after 10pm and a dispersal order was put in place on Petworth Road, Shepherds Hill, Grayswoods Road, and Lower Street leading onto Weyhill and Haslemere train station to prevent any further anti-social behaviour.

A 16 year-old boy was assaulted and treated for his injuries, which were not described as serious.

An 18 year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of assault. He has been released without charge, but remains under investigation.

A police spokesperson said: “We are aware of speculation in the local community relating to this anti-social behaviour, but can confirm that no reports of anyone possessing a knife or being treated for associated injuries were received.”
