A TEENAGE boy who attempted to burgle a property in Liss was forced to leave empty handed after being disturbed by the owner. Police are now appealing for witnesses following the "frightening" incident in Hill Brow Road between 2pm and 3.10pm on June 9. The boy, believed to be 16, used a ladder which was lying against a wall to climb onto the conservatory roof. He then tried to climb through the bathroom window but ran away after being disturbed by the homeowner. The boy has been described as white and skinny with short brown hair and was wearing a blue T-shirt and blue tracksuit bottoms with a stripe down the side. Detective Constable Marcus Baker is leading the witness appeal and also hopes the incident acts as a reminder for people to take security seriously. He said: "This was a frightening incident for the victim and I am appealing for anyone who was in the area or who may have seen something suspicious to contact me. I would also like to remind people to think about their home security and to ensure anything that could be used to gain access to their homes is stored safety." Anyone with information should contact Dc Baker, at North Walls CID, on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
