A TEENAGER has been arrested on suspicion of drug driving after a crash closed the A31 Farnham bypass for around two and a half hours on Sunday afternoon last week.

The crash, involving at least four vehicles, took place at around 2.15pm between the Shepherd and Flock roundabout and Hickley’s Corner. The eastbound carriageway of the A31 was subsequently closed until around 4.45pm, with traffic diverted through Farnham town centre.

A man in his teens was treated for a cut to the head and the driver of one of the vehicles - an 18 year old from Haslemere - was arrested on suspicion of drug driving and possession of cannabis.

He has been released on bail, pending further enquiries, to return to Guildford police station on April 11.

Surrey Police confirmed the cars involved included a black Land Rover Discovery, a white Nissan Juke, a silver Peugeot 206 and a blue BMW 316.

Anyone with information which could assist the investigation is asked to call 101, quoting incident reference P16040056.
