A 14-year-old Petersfield schoolgirl has been remanded in custody after appearing in front of magistrates in Basingstoke on Monday charged with attempted murder.
It follows an alleged stabbing incident at a school in East Hampshire on Monday morning involving another teenage pupil, who was believed to have been treated at Queen Alexandra Hospital in Cosham for a minor injury. Police were called to the school around 9.35am.
The 14-year-old, who can’t be named for legal reasons, was also charged with one count of threatening a person with a blade or sharp pointed article on school premises.The girl didn't enter a plea and will now appear at Winchester Crown Court on May 25.For legal reasons, the school which the girl attends cannot be named.
