THE temporary closure of the 30 beds at Haslemere Hospital for fire safety improvements is "not removal of beds by the back door", West Surrey Health Authority and the Surrey Hampshire Borders Trust insisted this week.
The Godwin Unit and Elizabeth Ward will close for approximately four weeks in October for the improvements, which will include the removal of a small amount of asbestos.
