TEMPORARY traffic lights are to be put in place in Castle Street and The Borough, Farnham over three consecutive Sundays, starting this weekend (November 15).

South East Water is set to dig up the road at the bottom of Castle Street to connect three new water supplies to a property in Castle Street.

The company’s regional network manager, Steve Benton said: “South East Water is required by law to provide a water supply to all new properties when asked to do so by the developer.

“The work will involve a trench being dug across the bottom of Castle Street to connect the new supply to the existing water network.

“So we can keep the public and our workforce safe while we do this essential work, we need to put traffic lights on Castle Street and The Borough to manage the traffic flow.

“We know this area of Farnham is very busy, so to minimise disruption, the work will be carried out on three consecutive Sundays, when traffic is lighter.”

The work will start this Sunday (November 15) and continue on Sundays, November 22 and 29, all between 9.30am and 4pm.

The traffic lights will be removed on the days when South East Water is not working and the road will be temporarily reinstated. Once the work is complete the carriageway will be returned to its original condition.
