WE’RE now a week into the school Easter holidays, but there is still so much going on to get the whole family out and about.

So, make the most of this weekend and next week but heading out to some of these events.

1. Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) Garden Wisley (March 24-April 15):

This Easter, RHS Garden Wisley is inviting children to go on a garden adventure to find the Lindt Gold Bunny.

Explore the garden and try to find the hidden bunnies along the trail.

There’s even a tasty chocolate treat awaiting those budding explorers that complete the trail.

A fun-packed programme will also run throughout the Easter holidays with free daily activities, including puppet shows, storytelling and music sessions, hands-on craft and gardening activities, plus fascinating birds of prey demonstrations by Xtreme Falconry (April 7-8).

For those who still have energy to burn, enjoy the glorious spring fresh air and visit the Wild at Wisley play area to build a den.

2. Lambing Open Days at Miller’s Ark Animals (Select days, 10am-4pm):

If your child loves animals, especially baby animals, what better way to spend a day then at Miller’s Ark Animals in Hook.

You’ll have access to every pen and be able to handle all the animals, including grooming baby donkeys and ponies, cuddling lambs and baby goats, tickling piglets tummies and so much more.

It’s all undercover so you can visit whatever the weather and if you get peckish, take a visit to The Old Dairy Tea Barn.

3. Xplorer event at Farnham Park (Thursday, April 12, 10.30am-12.30pm):

Take advantage of the warmer weather with Waverley’s biggest adventure for families in Farnham Park over the Easter holidays.

The course lasts for approximately 30 minutes and everyone will receive a certificate, sticker and chocolate egg for taking part.

There is also an opportunity to compete for a chocolate egg on Wednesday, April 11, at Broadwater Park between 10.30am-12.30pm.

This event is part of a whole series of Xplorer events.

4. Bloomin’ Kids’ Workshop (Tuesday, April 10 and Thursday, April 12, 10am-4pm):

These free Bloomin’ Kids Gardening Workshops are offering lots of green fingered fun to children aged six years and over.

The two sessions, held from 10am-12pm and 2pm-4pm, will allow aspiring gardeners the chance to take part in a number of seasonal activities while learning exciting facts and practical skills.

The workshops will take place at Farnham Town Council’s West Street greenhouses.

5. Birdworld’s Easter ‘Eggstravaganza’ (Friday, March 30 to Sunday, April 15, 10am-5pm):

Visitors can explore the 26-acre park to try and spot 50 ‘eggstra’ special eggs hidden by Birdworld’s mascot, Percy Penguin.

After completing the trail, entries will be placed into different draws for the chance to win some great prizes.

There will also be themed information boards around the park with a whole host of ‘eggcellent’ facts to learn about beautiful eggs from birds around the world.

6. Easter planting event at Squire’s Garden Centres (weekdays from Tuesday, April 3 until Friday, April 13, 10am-3.30pm):

Children will be shown how to add compost and spring plants to their choice of a cowboy, pirate or princess bug planter (£6), which they can then take home to look after.

They can also take part in a Spring Hunt (£2) around the garden centre to find clues that will help them spell out a special word - once completed they’ll receive a big slice of gourmet chocolate pizza.

7. Tree Top Easter Egg Hunt at Go Ape:

Go Ape is encouraging customers to harness up over the Easter holiday and take part in their Tree Top Easter Egg Hunt.

While customers are tackling the obstacles up in the canopy, they’ll need to keep their eyes peeled for hidden eggs along the course.

Once back on the ground, head to the cabin to be in with the chance of winning tickets to some of Go Ape’s partner attractions.

A small donation is required and everything raised will go to our 2018 charity, Challengers.

8. Maltings monthly market (Saturday, April 7, 9am-4pm):

Head down to Farnham Maltings this Saturday for the monthly market.

This market takes place on the first Saturday of every month, so why not go along with the family and browse the stalls, enjoy demonstrations and get involved in some workshops.

It showcases the best independent craftspeople, emerging designer makers, food producers and traders in the South East.

9. May The Toys Be With You (Open until April 14):

Calling all Star Wars fans!

This free exhibition is in Basingstoke for one last week and is perfect for both little and big Jedi.

From X-Wing fighters to lightsabers, this is a collection full of Star Wars toys and original cinema posters.

Star Wars has fired imaginations since its release 40 years ago and with the latest Star Wars film still fresh in all our minds, what better time to head to Willis Museum and Sainsbury Gallery.

10. Mythical Beasts at Milestones Museum (Ends April 15):

Basingstoke’s Milestones Museum needs your help this Easter as the mythical LEGO beasts have escaped onto the streets of the museum.

There’s only one week left for adventurers of all ages to save the day by taking on the challenge of recapturing the legendary creatures.

You’ll have to travel around the museum and track down the beasts, before returning them to Pandora’s box.

There’s other LEGO activities going on too which include, building a Greek temple between February, 10 and February, 16, a LEGO animation workshop on February, 14, a make-and-take LEGO Minifigure, a LEGO mosaic activity and LEGO play area.
